CompMD is a price comparison tool — we're not a hospital, clinic, or insurance company. The prices you see come from publicly available hospital pricing files that the federal government requires hospitals to publish. These are negotiated rates, not your out-of-pocket cost. What you actually pay depends on your plan's deductible, coinsurance, and out-of-pocket max. Always double-check with your hospital and insurer before making decisions based on this data.
We pull pricing data directly from hospital-published files as required under the CMS Price Transparency Rule (45 CFR 180). We do our best to keep things accurate, but hospitals update their files on their own schedule and sometimes the data has gaps or errors at the source. We can't guarantee every price is perfectly up to date.
This is a pricing tool, not a doctor. Don't pick or avoid a hospital based on price alone — quality, location, your doctor's recommendations, and your specific medical situation all matter.
We don't collect any health information. We use basic analytics to see how people use the site. We don't sell your data, period.
Everything on CompMD is for informational purposes. We try to be accurate but can't make guarantees about every data point on the site. Use it as a starting point, not gospel.
